No refund is admissible online within 4 hours of departure. Filing TDR may be required for specific cases like train late or AC failure.
If you have a PRS Counter Ticket (Yellow physical ticket), you can cancel it online via the IRCTC website. You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. After online cancellation, you must visit any PRS counter within the specified time to collect your cash refund.
Important:
The original ticket must be surrendered at the counter to claim the refund amount.
Charges are calculated based on the Gap between your cancellation time and the Scheduled Departure. The system deducts either a flat fee or a percentage (25% or 50%) of the base fare, whichever is higher.
100% Refund Eligibility
You get a full refund (zero deduction) if the train is cancelled by Railways or if the train is running late by more than 3 hours and you file a TDR before departure.
